Utterly fascinating. I personally don't know anyone who has had an NDE, but twice I have had the sensation of moving out of my body at night - yes I know everyone will say I was dreaming but trust me I wasn't - and floating upward and I had to consciously tell myself to stop it so that I go back into my body. Very creepy feeling.
This is considered an Out of Body Experience, or OBE, and has its own literature. Richard Feynman describes inducing OBE through sensory deprivation. OBE is usually a part of NDE but occurs more widely outside the NDE context
Have you read Christopher Bache’s work, particularly Dark Night, Early Dawn? He discusses NDEs of all kinds, including hellish ones, in great depth. I feel pretty convinced by his take on all of this.

Thanks for the reference to Richard Feynman! I'm going to look for his info on OBEs.
What if there was no ambiguity? What if the spirit realm NDEs are pointing to was indisputably proven to be real beyond any doubt?
What would happen then?
Somebody write about that?
